eBev, an online brewery, was facing challenges in managing its operations and sales effectively. They had a vast amount of data but lacked the necessary tools and expertise to turn it into actionable insights. I was brought on board to help eBev leverage data analytics and warehousing to optimize its operations and sales.
Overview
- The client wanted to create a centralized repository for all organizational data.
- The goal was to make the data accessible to everyone and create an organized data source.
- The client wanted continuous data to refresh the repository.
- The main objective was to convert raw data into actionable insights for better decision-making.
- The client wanted to build a data lake-house architecture on the cloud to achieve this.
Solution
The solution proposed by me involved implementing a data platform on the AWS cloud platform. The platform consisted of the following components:
- Data Warehousing: AWS Redshift was used to store and manage eBev’s data. The data was then integrated with their ERP system to ensure data consistency and completeness.
- Data Analytics: AWS QuickSight and Amazon EMR were used to perform data analytics on the data stored in the warehouse. This allowed eBev to gain insights into its operations and sales and make data-driven decisions.
- Dashboards and Visualizations: PowerBI was integrated into the platform to enable eBev to build vendor and merchant dashboards. These dashboards were built using streaming data sources to provide real-time visibility into their operations and sales.
- Research Analytics: I used Python, R, and SQL to determine the beverage index data and perform research analytics.
- Mobile Access: The platform was designed to be mobile-friendly, allowing eBev’s team to access the dashboards and visualizations from their mobile phones.
Results
The implementation of the data platform has helped eBev in several ways:
- Improved decision-making: The real-time data analytics and visualizations have provided eBev’s team with the necessary insights to make better decisions.
- Optimized operations and sales: The data-driven insights have helped eBev optimize its operations and sales, leading to an increase in revenue.
- Better Vendor and merchant management: The vendor and merchant dashboards have helped eBev to keep better track of their vendor and merchant performance and make informed decisions.
- Determining Beverage index data: The research analytics helped eBev understand the market trends and consumer preferences for different types of beverages.
Conclusion
The implementation of the data platform on AWS has helped eBev leverage data analytics and warehousing to optimize its operations and sales. The platform’s ability to provide real-time insights has enabled eBev to make better decisions and increase revenue. The integration of ERP and the implementation of dashboards and visualizations have also helped eBev better manage its vendor and merchant performance. With my help, eBev was able to determine the beverage index data which helped them to understand the market trends and consumer preferences.
